A Quest called Tripod:
Phone too low? Yup. When I first started going to coffee shops to work on my book I kept getting neck cramps. Could I just use my pop socket? Sure, if I wanted to look like the dad from Coraline, all hunched over as I look at my screen. When I grow up, I don’t want to be a folded-over old lady. I need my phone at a proper height for proper posture.
So began my search for the perfect tripod. Not too tall, not too bulky, versatile for a multitude of situations. Much like a unicorn, I thought it didn’t exist. But I was proven wrong!
What is in the box:
You get a tripod stand, and pole attachment, plus a phone holder. This means you can attach the pole when you are outside, say at a park bench, but remove it and just use the base when at a table. The base has 3 adjustable legs so you can still get the stand to the perfect height.
Height is Important
It’s all about getting my writing device to eye height.
But if a tripod is a standard tripod height, it will be too bulky to fit in a small purse. So is started to think when will I be standing typing? Never. I needed to locate the rare half-height tripod. It just needed to be eye height while I am sitting at a bench. But also needs to be short enough to be useful on a desk, just enough to get it to eye height from a table. How can you have both those things?
Portability
I am always trying to min/max my bag space. My dream is to have all the tools for a cafe day in my small bag.
What I pack:
Keyboard, Meds, journal, Wallet, Keys, Phone Sony recorder, Head phones, Pens, and tripod.
This tripod is small enough to fit in a purse, tall enough to sit at eye height when on the floor, and small enough to be used on a table.
I was lucky to find this amazing tripod that fits the bill.

Use in the cafe – table mode
Sometimes I want my phone up just a little more than normal to help with my back posture. This lets me have the phone in a portrait or landscape mode, which is convenient.
Legs – The legs extend to help get you extra height without needing the extra arm attachment.

Use Outside – full tripod mode
Great for if you are on a walk and feel inspiration hits, and the only place you can sit is a bench. Adding the pole attachment, you can comfortably set up your phone to eye height to start typing. I even use it at home when I’m on the couch so I don’t have to set up a full table. Simply whip out the tripod and start writing.
Summery:
A short, ultra-portable, multi-situation tripod is hard to come by. I recommend this tripod to anyone who is looking for a versatile writer’s tripod for a phone.
